Twine Could Soon Surpass Delicious, Prepares Ontology Authoring Tool - ReadWriteWeb
http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/twine_could_soon_surpass_delicious_prepares_ontolo.php
pete.com says Delicious gets about 2 million unique visitors a month and has stopped growing. Twine just passed 1 million uniques and is growing fast. Spivack said that 40% of that traffic comes from Google, and sure enough those Twine pages look awfully juicy from a spider's perspective. Spivack expects Twine to hit 2 million uniques in a matter of months and that looks like a credible claim to us.

Ultimate Guide to Delicious Social Bookmarking
http://www.interactiveinsightsgroup.com/blog1/ultimate-guide-to-delicious-social-bookmarking/
My favorite social media tool is social bookmarking service Delicious. I’ve always been an avid researcher and Delicious allows me to discover, save, organize and share information that I find online like no other service. It’s the engine of many of the blog posts I put together. Delicious is an especially good tool for marketers. Not only are is it an excellent tool for research and data mining, but it can also be a great vehicle for driving website traffic- articles that make it to the popular page(s) of Delicious can deliver large amounts of traffic to a website. The bookmarking feature of Delicious when compared to social news sites such as Digg and Stumbleupon can also lead to a steadier flow of traffic and repeat traffic over time as people return to pages they have bookmarked on Delicious. In this post, I’ve pulled together a very comprehensive collection of tutorials, advice, resources, tips and tools to help you use Delicious to enhance your marketing, research and other
HOW TO: Back Up Your Tweets
http://mashable.com/2009/06/21/lifestream-backup/
What would you do if all of the activity and data from your Twitter, Flickr, Delicious, or Wordpress accounts were to suddenly disappear? It’s not as far fetched as it sounds – social bookmarking service Ma.gnolia lost all user data permanently this year. And hackers, downtime, and errors happen all the time. The moral? Always have a backup.

analyzing user behavior to find experts
SPEAR (Spamming-resistant Expertise Analysis and Ranking) is a new technique to measure the expertise of users by analyzing their public activities on platforms like Delicious.
"A major problem of the Internet today is that finding high quality information is not easy nor fast. The steady increase of spam and junk content on the Web further complicates this challenge. Another related issue is that finding knowledgeable and trustworthy users on social platforms like Delicious is much more difficult than it should be. Wouldn’t it be nice if Delicious recommended “good” users with similar interests? Or wouldn’t it be helpful if you could get a selection of great websites on jewelry or mortgage without being overwhelmed by spam? To tackle this problem, we created the SPEAR algorithm. SPEAR (Spamming-resistant Expertise Analysis and Ranking) is a new technique to measure the expertise of users by analyzing their public activities on platforms like Delicious. A great benefit of SPEAR is that it returns two very useful sets of results: first, a list of users ranked by their expertise; and second, a list of websites ranked by their quality."

Delicious Reborn as Real-Time News Tracker
http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/delicious_reborn_as_real_time_news_tracker.php
The new front page is focused on political and tech news instead of the most popular topic on Delicious, web design. There also appears to be some smart filtering of the Twitter messages being counted, as the numbers are far lower than other services' counts and seem to exclude the spammy retweeting bots that pump up big news sources in other retweet counting services.
Yahoo's social bookmarking service Delicious launched a new home page this morning, combining recent tagging activity and cross-referenced links on Twitter to deliver what it calls the hottest news from around the web in real time. While the exact formula behind the front page remains unclear, its contents are clearly changing minute by minute.

Delicious has some new features that bring in news feeds and twitter feeds to the front page.
It is something the site probably should have done a while ago and if done correctly could make other services, like Digg, look all the more behind the times. The move could also help Delicious survive the coming Yahoo Search purge at the hands of Bing.
